Supporting Small Businesses
People are a huge part of any community. But we’re not the only part. Small businesses are a vital part of our neighborhoods, with a critical role to play.
“Our small businesses aren’t just places to pick up groceries or a tool for that weekend project. Small businesses sponsor Little League teams and Cub Scout troops. They make sure we don’t have to drive miles out of our way to get the things we need. They create jobs that are close to home and can’t be outsourced. Our communities and our government needs to make sure we’re fostering as friendly a business environment as possible, to support the small businesses that support us.”

- Guide development policy away from big-box retail and toward smaller, more diverse businesses that fit into existing neighborhoods
