About Joe
Joe grew up in the suburbs of Boston and attended Tufts University, graduating in 2004 with a degree in Computer Science and Political Science.
Joe and his wife Elizabeth moved to Minnetonka in 2005. They bought their home in 2007, and are raising their two sons Jacob (age 3) and Maxwell (age 1). In his spare time, Joe started a blog that grew into Minnesota Progressive Project, the largest online progressive community in the state.

“My blogging started as a way to combine my two degrees in a tangible way, and it grew into an outlet to explore new ways for people to connect, communicate, and share political values online. I think we need more of that type of exploration and experimentation in our local government — how can we help citizens more effectively connect with their civil servants? How can we instill confidence in our great public servants and services? The Internet offers us a variety of tools to answer these questions, but we need leaders willing to ask and work on them.”
Joe and Liz fell in love with their neighborhood because they knew it would be the perfect place to raise a family. “The first thing that struck us was how excited our new neighbors were to have a young couple move in down the street, with children on the horizon. Having children nearby enriches the neighborhood, makes it strong, and our neighbors knew that. It’s something I want to make possible for more neighbors and neighborhoods around our city.” |
